We would like to extend to you a warm welcome to an intellectually-stimulating environment amidst the greeneries of our campus at Kota Samarahan, Sarawak, invigorated by teaching staff and researchers who are experts in their fields. Since its establishment in 2003, the Centre for Graduate Studies (CGS) has held the distinction of being contemporary and forward looking in its approach to provide the best possible education and training for its students.
In choosing a university to pursue a postgraduate programme, one has to weigh out many options. Will there be adequate facilities, state-of-the-art laboratories and equipment, modern library, computing facilities etc – that can contribute and to promote the creation of a conducive research culture and learning experience? Will there be a sufficient pool of academic staff and researchers who are inspirational and committed to the pursuits and advancement of new knowledge and its applications? Will my experience as a Unimas postgraduate student be challenging, fulfilling and rewarding, socially and intellectually? Indeed in building the foundation for credibility and excellence of our postgraduate programmes, we have given our fullest attention to these critical criteria.
We take pride in our high-caliber staff and skilled researchers, our modern research facilities and campus-wide computer networking and services. Our level of commitment to research in a broad coverage of areas can stand up to the keenest scrutiny. CGS offers the rare prospect of focusing on quality and assertively seeking for a culture of excellence.
Postgraduate teaching and research have always occupied the highest profile in all its endeavors and achievements. The graduate programmes and research are constantly reviewed and monitored to maintain a learning environment of the highest quality.
2nd INTERNATIONAL ACADEMIC CONFERENCE 2013 26 – 28 September 2013 The education industries have taken the unprecedented steps in combining forces to meet the challenges of the world. It is hoped that this conference will bring changes for greater global sharing in terms of academic sustainable growth in every discipline and advancement in innovation to strengthen the academic atmosphere and networking for endeavoring human quality of life. The 2nd IAC aims to bring together educators, practitioners and students from local as well as international institutions to present their research findings, innovative ideas, latest technologies and up-to-date methodologies in the field of academic developments. Participants will be able to take part in paper presentations, paper discussion and plenary speeches. Increment in Health Insurance Fee Kindly be informed, with immediate effect, the cost for Health Insurance for international students has been increased from RM300.00/year to RM500.00/ year. This is in accordance with the government's circular whereby international students are required to have a medical insurance plus hospitalization if they are to further their studies in Malaysia. International students are required to have health insurance before they can apply for a student visa from Malaysia's Immigration Department.
If you have paid your fees before the registration dates, we will require you to pay the extra RM200.00 for the difference when you register for your first semester in September 2012.

The requirements are for: · Faculty/Institute/Centre · Centre for Graduate Studies* · Centre of Academic Information Services* · Student (Personal) Theses/dissertation marked by an asterix (*) must be submitted to the Centre for Graduate Studies and the remaining theses/dissertation have to be distributed by the student directly.
